passion is Family History and Genealogy.
Here is a brief outline of my Family History Interests and Activities.
BUCKLEY - This was my mother's maiden name and I started to research her
origins in 1972. She was born in SHAW near
BUCKLEY - One Name Study - On a separate page I list the currently
available data that we have collected on the One Name Study. Whilst this data
is not on-line I will be happy to do look ups for anyone with an interest in
this surname. It must be recognised however that this may not necessarily bring
a result and I cannot be committed to researching family history for others.

WOOD - My grandfather John Wood was born in STOKESLEY in the North Riding of Yorkshire. He came looking for work in Manchester Lancashire in the 1890's. He married and settled in Royton Lancashire in 1899, where my father Ernest Wood was born. Has I began to investigate the family history I discovered that the WOODs had lived on the North Yorkshire Moors in the small comminity of Chop Gate Bilsdale going right back to the 17th century. My great grandmother had moved to Stokesley in approximately 1862.
FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETIES - I am involved with the Manchester
and Lancashire Family History Society of which I have been a
member since 1983.
I am also a member of the Cleveland Family History Society which
covers the area of North Yorkshire where my WOOD ancestors came from.
